Allegion is seeking a Material Specialist (Strider) to fulfill a full-time position in Snoqualmie, WA at our Technical Glass Products facility.
The Strider is responsible for verifying the correct materials and quantities are supplied to the machining team to keep production flowing efficiently and on time. You will work independently to maintain an organized raw material (long metal extrusions) area and provide continuous flow of materials to manufacturing. The role entails use of a standup forklift for the majority of daily responsibilities, so prior forklift experience is essential. Additional responsibilities will include physical and administrative tasks involving inventory control, daily data entry, inventory, labeling, storing and distributing materials parts and supplies.
Must be able to work one of these schedules: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 4:30 PM or Monday - Friday 6 AM - 2:30 PM. 40 hours per week required, with opportunity for overtime.
What You Will Do:
Primary responsibility is to pick and stage inventory for machiningPerform timely and accurate data entry daily to allocate inventory against Pick Lists and other usageProvide accurate inventory cycle counts, update inventory locations and ensure material is correctly identifiedTake the initiative to research and resolve material related problemsCommunicate, monitor and expedite shortagesPrint part labels, Pick Lists and BOM (Bill of Materials) and other key documentsOffload material from containers, trucks and or other vehicles and move to appropriate locations for further processingUnpack, label and stock materials and consumables in accordance to storage requirementsComplete all necessary documentation pertaining to inventory movement and transactionsMaintain work areas according to 5S principles dailyFulfill assigned specific daily and weekly job assignments as outlined by supervisor that meet departmental and company goalsVisually inspect materials and follow disposal standard operating process.Support inventory, picking, cycle counting, and other material distribution in the facility as needed.Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures to support machining activities.Understand and comply with all appropriate safety and work safety regulations.Continuously maintain a clean work area including the cleanup and disposal of trash, production scrap, and material drop-off. Assist in cleaning common areas.Ensure all opened profile bundles are securely strapped.Other duties as assignedWhat You Need to Succeed:
Forklift experience2+ years of experience in material distribution, inventory, supply chain, or manufacturing preferred.Strong data entry, computer skills and ability to learn new software applications quicklyStrong organizational skills with close attention to detail and prioritizing multiple tasks along with meeting deadlinesAbility to navigate Material Resource Planning / Enterprise Resource Planning type systems (MRP/ERP) and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 a plus.Ability to operate a variety of power and hand tools and equipment, including; table saws & nail gunsAbility to set rigging and operate lifts and small cranes as needed to perform work.Excellent Customer Service Skills; display a professional ‘can do’ attitudeConsistently demonstrate independent judgment and initiative; driven self-started dedicated to continuous process improvementDetail-oriented, accurate, dependable and willing to accept a wide variety of assignmentsGood verbal and written communication skillsStrong math skillsFollow all safety requirements and keep work area clean and orderlyWorking Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly in an environment where heavy work is required and where moderate to loud noise occurs. The employee is in an assembly plant/warehouse environment that can be dusty. May be working around welding operations. Overhead work may be required. There is a frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, twist, bend, lift and move heavy objects (up to 70 pounds) and occasionally lift and move very heavy objects (up to 100 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the work day. Production aids such as tilting assembly tables, overhead cranes and forklifts can be used for these tasks. Personal protective equipment will be required and provided. In addition, the individual in this job will be working under time pressure and must be able to perform under stress. They must be able to work rapidly for long periods and to communicate and interact with others. They also must be able to perform multiple concurrent tasks, read and comprehend the material they read. The employee must be able to write, and problem solve. 40+ hours per week will typically be necessary to accomplish performance objectives and to provide satisfactory job presence and/or responsiveness

Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experiences.
The expected Base Hourly Range: $18.17 - $30.24. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
