Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Materials Planner. This is an onsite role at our Cleveland, TN location.
The purpose of this role is to provide material management of raw materials and/or component parts to the manufacturing locations and validate material is available for production when needed. This includes ensuring the material is shipped on time and received/stored accurately. This role communicates directly with the supply base on any supply issues and works with internal partners on quality and inventory issues. This role also works directly with transportation teams for accurate in-bound part flow.
This role also participates and/or leads engineering change and new model projects. These activities comprise the bulk of the job function and involve dealing with engineering, corporate new model planning, operations as well as planning. Some activities relative to this responsibility are managing processes related to Inventory Management, Bill of Material (BOM) Accuracy, Excess/Obsolescence Management, New Model Planning, Operational Issues, Returnable Packaging Issue Resolution, Invoice Resolution, Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) Errors, and Master Data Accuracy.
Your responsibilities will includeMaterial management of raw material, component parts, service parts and/or sub-contracted parts to the manufacturing locations and ensures material is available forproduction when needed including proactive and reactive problem solving with suppliers Supporting processes related to Inventory Management (including Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), Bill of Material (BOM) Accuracy, Excess/Obsolescence Management, New Model Planning, Operational Issues, Returnable Packaging Issue Resolution, Invoice Resolution, Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) Errors, Transportation, Master Data Accuracy. Continuous improvement projects related to improving material management and material flow Minimum requirements
Bachelor's Degree 1+ years of experience in one of the following areas; manufacturing, supply chain, or parts flow 1+ years of experience in lean tools such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Kanban Preferred skills and experiences
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or EngineeringEffective at developing and using standardized work. Project Management Understands and employs basic change management methodology Uses logic and problem solving tools to develop plans to meet targets and look forward proactively and to prioritize Can lead conversations with suppliers in a proactive, productive mannerUse of Google Tools (Google: Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms & Drawings) Experience in SAP or other ERP systems
