Title:
Materials and Weld EngineerJob Responsibilities:
Responsible for monitoring and reporting on Material and Weld aspects of contracted work scope package(s).
Ensuring compliance with Material and Welding Codes and Standards, Qualification of Weld Procedures, and Weld Procedure and NDE Procedural requirements, as well as other QA/QC documentation.
Verifying that all equipment production and testing is performed in accordance with the contract requirements.
HSE:
1. Work in accordance with Contract specifications, ETPs, Applicable Company Standards, and statutory requirements.
2. Take a proactive HSSE leadership role and demonstrate the same by example.
3. Participate in site emergency and evacuation drills.
4. Notify management immediately of all incidents or hazardous situations that come to their attention.
Monitoring and reporting on Contractor/Subcontractor and/or Supplier compliance with key materials and weld procedure qualifications and documentation relating to contracted work packages, ensuring Contractor/Subcontractor/Supplier conformity with contract requirements, relevant Codes/Standards, and good site practices.
Overseeing the welding and NDE portions of the package scope within the parameters of the approved project documentation, quality plans, Inspection and Test Plans, WPS, WPQs, and NDE Documentation.
Witnessing and reporting on Contractor/Subcontractor/Supplier Weld Procedure Qualifications/Welder Qualifications, performing general inspections including: material receiving inspection/documentation and certificate review, in-process manufacturing inspection (including Welding process review interventions/Fabrication/NDE operations), Testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), punch listing, as-built preparation, and final documentation review and equipment release, all in compliance with the requirements of the Contract specification.
Participating in Quality Reviews and Audits of Contractors/Suppliers’ facilities, verification of process documentation to ensure compliance with agreed contract documentation.
Identifying areas of concern and reporting on Quality, Weld, and NDE problems as they arise. Assisting in determining root causes and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
Any other activities requested by the Project Engineering/Quality Manager.

Job Requirements:
Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, or a comparable field.
Minimum 10-15 years of quality management and manufacturing experience in the oil and gas and petrochemical industries.
Minimum weld procedure qualifications, such as CSWIP, etc.
Recognized qualifications in welding/fabrication processes, codes, and standards (e.g., API, DNV, etc.).
Recognized qualification in non-destructive testing practices (e.g., RT interpretation and AUT experience).
Strong understanding of materials, welding, and procedural qualification.
Must have good working experience in contractor/supplier quality management processes, materials, and manufacturing routines, including welding and materials in manufacture.
Proficient in computer skills.
