The Materials Science & Technology team provides cutting-edge materials and processes solutions to support turbomachinery product competitiveness to deliver the highest reliable, efficiency and clean performances.
We are accountable to develop, test, select, qualify and apply materials technologies in components service environments and to deliver fit-for-purpose applications in the path of energy decarbonization.

Highly motivated materials engineer with a strong background and experience in materials science & technology able to support research & development programs in the field of Hydrogen applications. The main responsibility in the team will be to lead projects execution concerning materials selection, materials development and testing, with the scope to release new technologies for Baker Hughes equipment. The projects execution will be performed using internal laboratory facility as well as collaborating with external parties. In this role he/she will also collaborate in the definition of roadmaps for future developments.
Clear thinking, knowledge of Quality and HSE processes, and ability to deliver tasks are required skill.
Responsibilities:
As a Materials Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Understanding products requirements and identifying solutionsExecute research & development projectsPlan and support the execution of materials testing activities and failure analysisIssue technical reportsConnect with other materials experts to align best practices and to share knowledgeIdentify Quality and HSE risks and issues related to materials productionSupport the team in continuous improvement activities, such as non-conformity evaluation and corrective action implementationRequirements:
To be successful in this role you will:
Have MSc degree in a related field such as Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Energy Engineering.Have at least 2 years of Experience in engineering or research institutionTechnical expertise in metallurgy, materials, special process and testing methodologiesHave knowledge of International Quality standards (i.e. ISO, NADCAP)Have excellent communication and written skills in EnglishDemonstrate effective skills with the ability to influence and build relationships with the team and the internal and external customersBe able to travel internationallyBe a self-starter, proactively taking the initiative to solve problems and provide solutionsExhibit the highest standards of ethical conduct and responsibility for fully understanding and complying with company policiesWork in a way that works for you
