Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the 92 Force Support Squadron, Fairchild Inn, Fairchild AFB, WA. The purpose of this position is to receive, store, and issue a variety of bin and bulk supplies, materials and equipment. This is a Regular Part time position; guaranteed 20-34 hours per week; depending on the needs of the facility. Responsibilities Receives incoming shipments from off-loading areas and checks receiving vouchers to ensure quality and quantity of items received. Assembles items into groups based on information shown on receiving vouchers, segregates materials as necessary and routes along appropriate processing lines. Holds materials for inspection according to established procedures, and routes items not requiring inspection to proper storage. Reports overages, shortages, or damaged conditions to supervisor. Based on knowledge of warehousing plan, selects storage locations and stores, stacks, and palletizes items considering their use, size, shape, quantity, and possibility of contamination to or from other items. Selects items for shipment or issue. Checks condition of shipping containers and ensures that item are properly loaded or packed. Obtains authorized signature on issue documents and keeps necessary copy of requisition to account for issues. Assists in end-of-month inventories of stock by counting items in storage areas. Ensures that supplies and equipment are safeguarded and secure at all times. Prepares shipping and inventory documents with required data for manual or automated inventory systems. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience in and knowledge ofa wide variety of warehouse plans, methods, procedures, and techniques of material handling. Must be able to use mechanized equipment for storage and retrieval. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Physical Effort: Lifting and carrying supplies, materials, and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Heavier items arc moved with equipment or the assistance of other workers. Required to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time. Bends, stoops, and works in tiring or uncomfortable positions. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
