ResponsibilitiesIDEMIA is searching for a new team member to join our pre-sorting and driving team in Springfield, IL. Ideal candidates will have 4-6 years experience in Materials Handling and Machine Operations, a Class C IL Drivers License, a Forklift certification, and must be willing to obtain a Department of Transportation Medical Certificate.

Count and/or weigh incoming or outgoing items to verify against travelers, bills of lading, or other records.Complete necessary documentation and paperwork for shipping and receiving processes, including preparing shipping forms.Prepare materials for shipment by weighing, packaging, scanning, and labeling finished goods according to customer requirements and regulatory standards.Deliver materials to designated locations, including the post office, based on knowledge of procedures and routes.Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and dollies to move stock, reorganize storage areas, and transport raw materials and finished products within the manufacturing plant. Perform installation, calibration, and operation of production machines to ensure they function efficiently and safely.Test and inspect machines to guarantee safe operation, performing routine maintenance and addressing standard malfunctions as required.Conduct quality control checks to ensure that items produced meet required standards and report any discrepancies. Verify inventory levels and notify supervisors of shortages or excesses to prevent production delays or stockouts.Clean and maintain material handling equipment and storage areas to ensure they are safe and operational.Collaborate with the production team on the handling and disposal of secured materials in a safe and secure manner.Follow safety protocols and wear protective gear when operating heavy machinery.Maintain a clean and organized working area and uphold quality and ethical standards in all interactions with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.Be flexible and ready to assist with any additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor, including using common tools like manual jacks and dollies, and operating overhead doors, dock plates, banding, and wrapping equipment.Use computerized scales for counting and weighing goods accurately. QualificationsExperience and Education
High School diploma or equivalent is required.A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in materials handling and machine operation.Demonstrated ability to perform work under minimal supervision.Strong problem-solving skills to handle complex issues with minimal guidance.Computer and typing skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Suite, and other related software.Experience in leading, coaching, or mentoring a subordinate group is preferred.
Certifications
Must possess an Illinois Class C.Must possess or be willing to obtain DOT medical card.Forklift certification is required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 60 to 100 pounds.Must be able to operate machinery and material handling equipment safely.
