A key element of this strategy was the design of a new way to support its suite of 30 brands globally. The company chose Panama as being best suited to establish its new Global Business Services (GBS) operation center. This new center will initially deliver Finance, Human Resources and Legal services to ELC employees across several geographies and time zones. Through a new innovative service minded approach, this center will redefine service standards globally at ELC. This new GBS team will provide a one-stop-shop solution for the ELC businesses, supported by new customer engagement insights, new systems, and new reporting. In addition to delivering exceptional service to the ELC businesses each day, the GBS team will also be responsible for continuously streamlining work in pursuit of growing its service offering in support of achieving ELC’s strategic and business objectives. New site, new team, new opportunity. Position Overview: The two primary purposes of the Material Planner are: 1. Planning Procurement: Execute all PO management functions with our key suppliers supporting a specific region. The individual must manage orders to ensure on time delivery to our in-house manufactures, as well as third party facilities. The planner will manage purchase orders (POs) to minimize disruptions to the business and will resolve operational bottlenecks identified throughout the process, while escalating issues appropriately 2. Supplier Management: Management of critical suppliers. This individual will interact with our supply base on a daily / weekly as a representative of the Estee Lauder Companies to drive mutual collaboration which will benefit the relationship between both parties. Qualifications Roles & Responsibilities: The below require the following: Decision making, Problem Solving, Independence of action and accountability 30% Supplier Management -- Review of Supplier performance, Establish and facilitate daily / weekly operational meetings to ensure supplier production is in line with ELC demands. 30% PO Management – Execute all aspects of the PO Management process (Creation, confirmation, expedite/de- expedite, and cancel) with the supply base. Track Pos from shipment to goods receipt and availability within our manufacturing partners. This includes life cycle management phasing in and out of components. 10% Service Management – Escalation of any materials that are not aligned with ELC demands. Problem solves and work with the supplier to realign supply as well as quantify risk to the business. 10% Supplier Performance – Monitor supplier performance and course correct when key metrics fall below acceptable levels. 10% Work with Cross functional partners within the ELC supply chain. FG supply planning / Scheduling and Sourcing are key stakeholders to align our plans and keep updated on the progress of material supply. 10% Material Life Cycle Management: Manage quality, destruction and liabilities of materials within the supply chain Primary Tasks: Negotiate with vendors to ensure required delivery dates are met, Resolve escalated issues within execution horizon, eg. expedite/ de-expedite not agreed by suppliers, volume change etc. to support material schedulers Provide visibility into material constraints, changes to the supplier delivery dates and any bottlenecks (operational) to Global MPS Planner / TPM Planner Manage and track POs, including ordering, expediting, de-expedite & canceling – following up and escalating where applicable Manage EMQ – Order High / Order Low process Re-deploy materials globally across distribution centers and sites Manage and track material expiration – labeling materials and organizing through rotation and cycle counts Undertake material requirements planning, confirm purchase requests, issue POs (track automatic POs issuance) in order to support finished goods production plans and maintain finished good s supply. Identify and understand supply (material/ components) risk, develop action plan to resolve and/or reduce the risk Validate operational / strategic horizon material/ component requirement at commodity level and provide visibility to strategic suppliers. Work with GSR to secure supplier capacity information Negotiate with vendors to ensure required delivery dates are met, Resolve escalated issues within execution horizon, eg. expedite/ de-expedite not agreed by suppliers, volume change etc. to support material schedulers Provide visibility into material constraints, changes to the supplier delivery dates and any bottlenecks (operational) to Global MPS Planner / TPM Planner. Conduct regular demand / delfor reviews with suppliers to help identify any potential supply issues in the future. Check planning parameters are correct and up to date. Implement phase out/phase in procedure to ensure efficient management; minimizing excess/obsolescence. Support identification of opportunities to increase agility i.e. PDT or MLS reduction with suppliers. Resolve escalated issues within execution horizon such as expedite/ de-expedite, volume change etc. to support material schedulers Manages de-expedites of orders working with Material Scheduler, and cancellation charges with suppliers (liability orders) Skills & Capabilities: Ability to solve issues and be agile in reacting and responding to changes Ability to collaborate with external and internal stakeholders (i.e. GSR, TPM, external suppliers) Expertise and experience with supply chain materials management Strong understanding of planning concept and system settings to drive desired results Knowledge of the interactions and interplays between supply and demand in the executional (0-2 months) and operational (2-12 month) horizons, with focus on material planning Highly analytical – analyzes data and provides clear / fact-based presentations to stakeholders Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, able to successfully manage multiple accountabilities simultaneously Ability to build strong relationships and tactfully navigate multiple cross-functional, matrixed stakeholders Excellent problem-solving skills and quick to react and respond to changes Execution oriented – thrive under pressure with a demonstrated ability to get things done Ability to work within a global, cross-functional team, collaborating with GSR, Planning, GBSC, Finance, Suppliers and Commercial stakeholders Exceptional complex problem-solving abilities Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Operations Research or related field Minimum 8 years of related experience in Supply Chain, preferably with experience in material planning, supply planning, sourcing / purchasing and supplier management within the beauty / cosmetic industry Deep knowledge of supplier management / collaboration, inventory management and procurement Advanced knowledge of, and experience of raw material, packaging for beauty / cosmetic industry products Advanced knowledge of, and experience with sourcing and supplier management activities for raw material / packaging suppliers within the beauty / cosmetic industry Knowledge of, and experience with supply planning and supplier collaboration tools (e.g., SAP, E2Open, Kinaxis, etc.).
