**JOB DESCRIPTION** **Materials Management Supply Technician-Medical & Surgical-New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai-Full Time, 8am to 4pm** To ensure that all serviced areas are supplied with materials, medical - surgical goods and other support services as needed to allow the business/clinical units to function in the most efficient manner responsible for signing/accepting, receiving and delivery of shipments from vendors. Responsible for the appropriate and accurate documentation of data for accounting and other departmental purposes. Is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the Department and the Hospital Center. **RESPONSIBILITIES** + Receives/accepts all deliveries entering the premises + Enters purchase order deliveries into the Material Management computer system + Create requisition to Purchasing Department for daily orders for Central Supply Storeroom only. + Participate in daily call with the Hospital’s distributor for B/O update + Delivers materials to appropriate location + Handles stat requests for urgent delivery to end users in a timely manner. + Performs supply distribution activities including the storing, inventorying, delivering and documenting of supplies + Delivers and stores all merchandise to the appropriate storage area. Rotates product using, FIFO (First In, First Out) to store items neatly in storage area. + Inspects, removes, and replaces expired products found on clinics, Nursing units and OR. + Accurately performs physical inventory counts for Central Supply Store Room + Accurately picks supplies from Central Supply Store Room and prepares them for transport to the clinics/Nursing units. + Uses handheld/computer to order supplies needed for replenishment of clinics/Nursing units the following day + Uses hand-held/computer to maintain par levels of medical/surgical supplies for nursing units. + Restocks Central Supply storeroom shelves as requested. + Accurately fills requisitions with correct quantities and products requested + Documents all transactions according to department policy and procedure. + Responsible for documentation of all inventory/delivery data. + Removes empty corrugated boxes, pallets, and tote boxes as needed + Participate in cost saving measure for the Department + Responsible for maintenance and sanitation of receiving and storage areas, including equipment. + Maybe required to perform other duties as assigned. **QUALIFICATIONS** + High school diploma or equivalent required. + Must be able to lift and handle heavy packages, past materials inventory experience a plus Collective bargaining unit: SEIU 1199-NYEE SEIU 1199 at New York Eye & Ear, BMQ - Medical & Surgical - NYEE, New York Eye and Ear Infirmary **REQUIRED SKILLS** Microsoft Office **ABOUT US** **Strength Through Diversity** The Mount Sinai Health System believes that diversity, equity, and inclusion are key drivers for excellence.
