We are seeking a Materials Manager to lead the implementation of PFEP pull replenishment systems and oversee inventory control, production planning, and risk management within our factory. WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Lean Supply Chain Management:
o Implement PFEP pull replenishment systems throughout the entire factory, including setting appropriate objectives and Daily Management to monitor consistency throughout the team.
o Establish and maintain the cadence of kanban review for each planner, focusing on Kanban and ROP resizing.
o Initiate and lead problem-solving/process improvement efforts.
o Participate and lead Kaizen events. Oversee & actively participate in the use of “lean manufacturing tools” to support continuous improvement throughout Kaizen efforts.
• Inventory Control: Managing inventory levels is a critical aspect of the role. Materials Managers strive to maintain an optimal balance between having enough inventory to meet production requirements and minimizing excess stock to reduce carrying costs.
• Production Planning and Scheduling: Collaboration with production managers is essential to align material availability with production schedules. This involves forecasting demand, understanding production timelines, and coordinating with different departments to avoid disruptions.
• Risk Management: Anticipating and mitigating potential risks in the supply chain and developing contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies are essential.
• Team Leadership: Led a team of planners involved in various aspects of materials management. Effective leadership is crucial for team motivation, coordination, and achieving departmental goals.
• Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication with internal departments (such as production, logistics, and finance) and external partners (suppliers and distributors) is essential. Need to ensure that everyone involved in the supply chain is well-informed and aligned.
• Continuous Improvement: Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs is an ongoing responsibility. This involves staying updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in materials management.
WHO YOU ARE
• Experience in materials planning required.
• Minimum of 5 years of materials replenishment experience. A College Degree in Supply Chain Management is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong and proven track record of continuous improvement preferred.
• Functions effectively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
• Knowledge of a variety of materials and/or supply chain competencies, including but not limited to: demand-pull systems, kanban, inventory control, financial analysis, expediting, lean manufacturing, JIT, MRP, MS Office, safety stock, VMI, not limited to etc.. preferred
