MATERIALS PLANNER
DETROIT, MICHIGAN – LEAR DETROIT GRATIOT PLANT
As a member of the Materials team, the Planner will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of all assigned components and maintains inventory levels of all assigned components consistent with established inventory goals. In this role, you support department and plant goals as established, participate in continuous improvement activities and the high performance work team model.
The Role:
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
Load and analyze customer demand and advise management of possible risks. Organize and maintain materials department files on paper and in the system. Contact vendors concerning material related issues. Complete cycle count process as outlined by the Materials Manager. Track inbound shipments. Provide work instructions to the Materials Specialists and Material Handlers. Assist with the processing of defective material, returns, scrap, and miscellaneous inventory adjustments and printing related reports. Interface with material systems for maintenance. CUM reconciliation with the customer and suppliers. Maintain listing of current supplier and customer contacts. Notify the Materials Manager and other appropriate personnel of any materials issues that may negatively impact the line or the customer. Follow ISO14001and IATF16949 procedures/processes.

Your Qualifications:
Bachelor’s (4-year) degree Excellent written / verbal communication skills. MRP – SAP / AS400, EDI / Releasing, computer literacy. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Bonus If You Have:
Lean Management experience. JIT Automotive experience. Forecasting knowledge, excellent planning skills.
