Materials Planner
Job Title: Materials PlannerJob Description We are seeking an experienced Materials Planner to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a primary point of contact and liaison with sales, logistics, and manufacturing departments, collaborating to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve customer needs. Responsibilities + Serve as a primary point of contact and liaison with sales, logistics, and manufacturing departments. + Collaborate with departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve customer needs. + Periodically compare current and anticipated orders with available inventory of raw materials; use judgment to anticipate demand and acquire additional supplies as needed. + Negotiate with outside supply vendors; ensure accurate and timely delivery of orders. + Integrate sales orders with the master schedule; coordinate availability of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and staff as needed to meet delivery dates. + Maintain master distribution schedule for the assigned facility; revise as needed and alert appropriate staff of schedule changes or delays. + Participate in periodic forecasting meetings with sales, marketing, and other related departments; lead additional planning meetings with sales, production, shipping, purchasing, and customer service staff. + Purchase various parts and supplies from vendors as needed and handle vendor management. Essential Skills + 3-5+ years of experience working as a Materials Planner for a manufacturing company (machine shop experience strongly desired). + Experience working with an ERP/MRP system. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel. + Experience in Materials Planning for a company with an annual revenue of $25 million or more. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Excellent organizational and planning skills. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work well with all levels of management and staff. + Proficiency with inventory reporting systems. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Work Environment The work environment is a combination of an office, machine shop, and manufacturing setting. You will spend approximately 80% of your time in the office and 20% on the floor interacting with staff to make decisions. The standard workday is from 8 AM to 5 PM. You will work with a team of about three other people and report to a supervisor. The dress code is business casual. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $39.00/hr.
