Role Summary/Purpose:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Materials Manufacturing Internship, allowing an intern to work with a global and diverse materials team at our headquarters for Surgery in Salt Lake City, Utah. This intern will work on projects to improve the:

Speed from the receipt to stock of materialStandard processes to feed the production line from the stock roomVisual management and escalation processesDevelopment of an on-site materials warehouse

Primary responsibilities include:

Work on projects often requiring independent decision-making. These projects are normally scoped the length of the internshipDevelop PowerPoint presentations and other graphic presentations to communicate progress, share best practices, or to provide updatesMay be asked to analyze data with Excel or other analysis toolsMay be asked to take on certain aspects of a full-time job within the function the intern is studyingMay be asked to participate in early talent events, seminars or trainingsPerform assignments where trust and accuracy are required

 Qualifications/Requirements:

High School Diploma, GED, or local equivalentSophomore standing or greater in an undergraduate program.Current enrollment in a degree program that will lead to a bachelor’s or technical degree or equivalent in Business, BIS, Operations Management, Engineering, or IT (or similar) in which the intern will work A GPA of at least 3.0.Willingness to relocate to Salt Lake CityAbility to work a minimum of a 10-week full time internship over the summer.Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and OutlookEffective time management and organizational skills; able to balance multiple prioritiesExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skillsEligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship

At least 24 credit hours of coursework toward a bachelors/technical (or equivalent) degree in the function you are interning or a recent graduate from a Bachelors/technical program in the function you are interningAbility to exercise independent judgment consistent with department guidelinePrevious experience using independent thought processes to plan ahead, process information, maintain workflow and anticipate future needs of the teamStrong organizational skills with high attention to detailSelf-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal directionAbility to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions and meet deadlinesTeam player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working within a globally diverse team across different time zones
