Introduction:
We are seeking an experienced Materials Planning Manager to lead a global team of 10-15 professionals in managing materials planning processes for a semiconductor manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will oversee the planning and forecasting of critical materials, such as chemicals and gases, ensuring timely availability to meet production needs. This role requires close collaboration with manufacturing sites, procurement teams, and the materials management team to optimize supply chain efficiency and support business objectives.
Responsibilities include:
Leadership & Team Management:
• Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of 10-15 materials planners to achieve high performance.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
2. Materials Planning:
• Oversee the end-to-end planning of materials, including substrates, chemicals and gases, to support semiconductor manufacturing.
• Analyze and review forecasts provided by fab teams, ensuring alignment with production and business plans.
• Develop strategies to balance inventory levels, minimize excess, and prevent material shortages.
. Cross-functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with manufacturing sites to understand production requirements and constraints.
• Partner with procurement teams to align sourcing strategies with material needs and forecast demands.
• Collaborate with the materials management team to drive supply chain optimization and resilience.
4. Forecasting & Analytics:
• Review and validate material forecasts to ensure accuracy and alignment with operational needs.
• Utilize advanced planning tools and data analytics to enhance forecasting and planning processes.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
5. Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities to improve materials planning processes, leveraging technology and best practices.
• Drive initiatives to reduce costs, enhance efficiency, and mitigate supply chain risks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
10-12+ years of experience in materials planning, supply chain, or a related field within the semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing industry.
Proven experience managing global teams.
Expertise in planning for materials like chemicals and gases is highly desirable.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes.
Experience implementing supply chain optimization projects.
Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCP, CPIM)
