Description

The Materials/Planning Specialist provides an ancillary supply chain function for Program Managers in Skyworks Solutions’ Mobile Solutions Business Unit. As a Materials/Planning Specialist, you will work alongside the Program Managers to procure, track and receive materials required to achieve engineering milestones starting from the first article and through to the final configuration for mass production. This role reports into the Program Management Team.
 
Responsibilities:
-Assist Program Managers with materials procurement from internal and external suppliers.
-Receive, log, and store engineering materials and transfer to build location as needed.
-Extract pertinent information from materials trackers sent by suppliers to highlight critical paths for build milestones.
-Prepare periodic reports for Program Managers highlighting materials’ status relative to build plans.
-Develop, implement and refine work instructions and inventory management processes.
-Inventory reconciliation through periodic analysis of received goods vs ordered.
-Act as a focal point and monitor assigned areas to ensure material delivery dates meet sampling needs.
-Identify and coordinate advance notice, input and resolution of material shortages/overages.
-Interface with stakeholders within the company to identify and coordinate the disposition of obsolete, non-conforming, and excess materials.
-Analyze data and collaborate with Program Managers, to determine and apply appropriate ordering, inventory, and replenishment policies.
-Anticipate potential problems and risks, generate ideas, insight, and solutions to resolve or deter potential problems, followed by decisive action to implement solutions.
-Analyze data to determine opportunities to decrease inventory and reduce total costs to support Sampling activities.
-Demonstrate effective collaboration skills by open communication and sharing of pertinent information to all stake holders.
-Represent the company successfully and exercises flexibility in their communications with internal teams and vendors.
-Assist the Buyers and the Program Managers during material related discussions and purchases.

Required Experience and Skills

-BA or BS degree, or equivalent, with 5 years of material management experience and at least 2-4 years of progressively responsible planning and materials control experience in an engineering environment.
-Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office including Excel with macros, look-up tables and ability to learn new software/programs as opportunities or department needs arise.
-Experience with Microsoft PowerBI or equivalent data visualization and analytics software such as Tableau.
-Knowledge of materials management theories processes and practices.
-Highly effective and professional verbal and written communication skills with team, internal customers and suppliers that includes a strong focus on teamwork and internal customer satisfaction.
-Exhibit & encourage sense of urgency.
-Highly organized with strong attention to detail, and superior follow-up and follow-through skills.
-Ability to scale existing systems upward to better fit current and future methods of operations.
-Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and primary responsibilities as per priorities set by Program Managers.
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, colleagues, suppliers.
-Strong analytical, conceptual, skills.
-Highly energetic and process driven.
-Self-starter, requires minimum supervision, and passionate about what he/she does.

Desired Experience and Skills
-Ability to read, understand, and interpret documents and drawings.
-Experience with SAP/MRP/Oracle systems in a manufacturing/Engineering environment.  
-Knowledge of semiconductor operations.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $74,800 - $135,400 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
