Job DescriptionThe Materials Scientist – Chemical Interactions & Material Development plays a critical role in our manufacturing operations, demanding expertise and commitment to excellence.
Conduct research on chemical interactions, material properties, and structure-performance relationships to develop novel materials.Design, synthesize, and characterize materials such as polymers, composites, ceramics, or nanomaterials for specific applications.Perform chemical analysis and physical testing to evaluate material durability, thermal stability, corrosion resistance, and mechanical properties.Utilize spectroscopy (FTIR, UV-Vis, XPS), chromatography (GC-MS, HPLC), and microscopy (SEM, TEM, AFM) techniques for material characterization.Develop and optimize chemical formulations and coatings for improved performance and sustainability.Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to transition materials from lab-scale to production.Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to material science.Prepare technical reports, patents, and research publications based on findings.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering and related field Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and quality control methodsExperience with process improvement techniques and project managementExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex dataStrong technical writing and communication skillsProficiency in data analysis and statistical toolsAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environmentStrong organizational skills and attention to detailWillingness to work flexible hours as needed to support production schedulesAdditional Information
