About The Role

The Material Manager will be responsible for ensuring materials for production & sales orders are delivered in time within the inventory constraints of the Business.

Responsibilities

Placement of purchase orders on suppliers & check order acknowledgements for accuracy.

Build up working relationship with suppliers to ensure Prysmian deliveries are front of the queue

Progress overdue orders

Amend lead times on Sap & communicate to the business.

Liaise between accounts & supplier over any discrepancy or booking errors

Raise any rejections & complaints when required

Liaise with purchasing to determine which supplier to place purchase orders on.

Optimise inventory to reduce provisions.

Be flexible to cover planning roles within the department when required

Ensure end of month/year stock checks are up to date in Goods inwards & Subcontract stocks at vendors

Interpret MRP to order materials & use excel to manage the detailed delivery dates/call off’s when required

Liaise with intercompany suppliers & control any factored products.

Must gain product knowledge and experience to fully understand the business.

Qualifications & Requirements

Self-motivated

Ability to influence

Possess excellent communication and relationship building skills

Ability to work to deadlines and pressure

Computer Literate

Good knowledge of SAP, however not essential as training will be given.

Excellent attention to detail is required.
