The Materials Technician is responsible for sample preparation and testing of materials and product; data collection and reporting; assisting with calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment; training R&D personnel on laboratory equipment as needed; and management/disposal of testing wastes. This individual will also be responsible for assisting with writing and updating standard operating procedures.
Highlights of your role Sample preparation of materials and product for lab and field-testing including cutting, pretreating, coating, and building fixtures. Testing: responsible for sample preparation, testing, data collection, and reporting.Calibration and Equipment Maintenance: maintain R & D instruments and equipment to ensure availability and be a training resource for associates. Communication and Coordination: work with materials science staff, procurement, quality, logistics, and production personnel to coordinate testing at Marvin facilities.Test materials inventory: work with other lab staff to manage material and supplies inventory. Document Preparation and Management: write reports, assist with maintaining materials report database, standard operating procedures, and analytical test methods. You're a good fit if you have (or if you can) High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred but not necessary.Two or more years of experience in related fields preferred.
