Materials Turnkey Coordinator

SUMMARY
The Material Control Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of work efforts and development of expertise in the Production of the Accommodations construction, Cabin factory and Joinery installation, ship insulation and HVAC installation. This is an in-person position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
+ Ensure that all Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and met
+ Develop and implement SOP’s and other procedures to assure the following are successfully achieved:
+ HSE relate to ship construction
+ Materials and material management
+ Material handling and transportation methods
+ Warehouse and storage management
+ Work closely with production departments, turnkey subcontractors, HPSI detail planner and material control management to coordinate JIT material scheduling.
+ Ship specifications and contract requirements
+ USCG requirements, rules and test procedures
+ Progress reporting through PSI planning and inventory management systems
+ Actively engage in the management of the overall project life-cycle and provides timely reporting and contract related documents
+ Track project from prefabrication phase through delivery
+ Coordinate activities between the subcontractor and shipyard transportation for material deliveries and crane lifts
+ Report and enter MPRs (Material Problem Reports) through the established quality system.
+ Retrieve unused material after issue and restock
+ Knowledge of warehouse and field lay down areas for construction type activities.
+ Maintain control of received materials including:
+ Count verification
+ Sign off
+ Storage location
+ Maintain organization and control in process materials and proper storage.
+ Bachelors of Science (emphasis Engineering) preferred
+ Perform other related duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
+ At least 5 years’ experience in shipbuilding, heavy industrial and construction industry
+ Planning experience in manufacturing industry, preferred ERP/Project experience in:
+ Primavera
+ MS Project
+ Excel
+ Knowledge/experience of Project based engineering process.
+ Knowledge/experience of modern shipbuilding process and terminology
+ Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
+ General office administrative experience, along with fluency in MS Office Suite

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke. Work may be carried on indoors or outdoors, and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time, safety-sensitive position. Standard days and hours of work vary by department. Days and hours are determined by department schedule.
