Job Qualifications New York State Certification as a Mathematics teacher (Grades 7-12). • Create and deliver lessons grounded in researched best practice, current formative data and specially designed instruction. • Individualize learning experiences, as appropriate, create flexible grouping for learning experience. Observe and evaluate students' performance in meeting grade level standards. • Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans, making learning targets clear with students for each lesson as appropriate. • Manage student behavior in the classroom with appropriate disciplinary techniques. • Meet course, grade level and district performance goals. • Create a positive educational environment for students to learn, grow and promote success for students of all abilities. • Utilize curriculum that reflects the diversity of educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students being served. • Participate in ongoing professional development and read to stay abreast of current topics in education. • Work collaboratively with administrators, department chairs and colleagues to create a positive work environment that promotes student achievement. • Develop and utilize various curriculum resources and participate in curriculum writing/modification sessions.
