Summary About the Position: As the Army's primary integrator of C5ISR technologies and systems, the U.S. Army Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Center conducts Research and Development, or R&D, across a wide variety of capability areas that support all of the Army's Modernization priorities. Responsibilities Support research, development, design and use of active and passive electro-optical sensor performance and/or human performance modeling and characterization. Establish requirements for technical objectives and characteristics. Design and develop prototypes, breadboards, brassboards, components, technology demonstrators, and engineering models including the direction of the fabrication as required. Perform work which requires professional education and training in the field of mathematics. Research mathematical principles, methods, procedures, techniques or relationships. Conduct studies and analyses to determine the feasibility of various advanced engineering approaches for future programs or to resolve major controversial problems in current programs. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for 1520 series: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in mathematics; or a degree with the equivalent of a major that included at least 24 semester hours in mathematics. The total course work must have included differential and integral calculus and, in addition, four advanced mathematics courses requiring calculus or equivalent mathematics courses as a prerequisite. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in mathematics (including at least 24 semester hours in mathematics), as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The total course work must have included differential and integral calculus and, in addition, four advanced mathematics courses requiring calculus or equivalent mathematics courses as a prerequisite. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work of this job. One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the DB-03 (GS-14) grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1)Managing research/development of basic mathematical principles and or methods for a organization; 2)Conducting studies and/or analyses to determine the feasibility of various advanced engineering approaches for future programs ; and 3)Participate in meetings, explain policies/requirements, or communicate/negotiate important issues. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision Making Mathematics and Statistics Problem Solving Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. This is a Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Demonstration Project position and incorporates the GS-14 step 01 through GS-15 step 10.
