Mathematics Instructor

The Department of Mathematics & Physics at Iona University is seeking applications for an Instructor of Mathematics to begin in Fall 2024. This is a full-time faculty position. For this position, we will give preference to candidates with demonstrated expertise in statistics.

 

Iona University and the Department of Mathematics & Physics emphasize teaching excellence. The department offers an undergraduate major and minor in Mathematics, a minor in Physics, and support for mathematics education degrees at the undergraduate and graduate level. The department also offers courses in support of other undergraduate majors and the university core.

 

The department is committed to creating a student-centered learning environment and to engaging students in mathematics beyond the classroom. Faculty in the department utilize diverse teaching methods including the use of technology. Class sizes are small with all core classes having 25 or fewer students. Responsibilities:

Candidates are expected to participate, consistent with their expertise, in the teaching and ongoing development of the mathematics curriculum. Duties each semester include 12 hours teaching load with additional responsibilities in service. Employment begins August 2024.

 

Salary:

Competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
