Job Title: Software Developer in Test

Job Description

As a Software Developer in Test, you will ensure the quality and reliability of the System Model codebase, as well as the microservice ecosystem supporting it, through effective and automated software testing. You will be responsible for writing software tools and scripts, leveraging existing test frameworks and tools to perform integration, system, performance, and other tests to validate the functional and non-functional requirements of the product.

ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the development teams to understand software requirements and design test strategies accordingly.Build and maintain automated test frameworks and infrastructure using GitLab.Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and continuous integration for the System Model suite within different software development environments such as MATLAB and Python.Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, and scalability testing, to ensure code quality.Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.Improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Monitor and manage test environments, ensuring stability and availability.Essential SkillsProficiency in Python and use of PyTest.Experience with MATLAB programming.Experience with scripting in Linux.Knowledge of Git, preferably GitLab.Experience in software testing and development.Familiarity with CI/CD processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with microservices and related technologies such as Go and GRPC.Experience with Robot Framework.Work Environment

The position is located on-site in downtown Ottawa, with the option to work from home on Wednesdays. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing company involved in the largest space program in Canadian history. The project is scheduled until early 2028, providing a long-term consulting engagement for those interested.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
