What You’ll get to Do:
The Future Positioning Navigation Timing Systems (FPNTS) team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for an MBSE Systems Engineer to join our team. This candidate will provide technical support of our navigation research and development (R&D) portfolio for military applications and is based out of Woodland Hills, CA. This job opportunity is contingent upon the arrival of a large Software Defined GPS Receiver program expected September 2024.
In this role you will be collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to establish architecture content and develop solutions that achieve customer intent. It will require you to demonstrate good communication skills, systems thinking, and the ability to capture technical design in MBSE architecture products.
Essential Responsibilities:
Development and evaluation of GPS receiver architectures and requirementsDefining key capabilities and performance requirements for GPS receiversDecomposing functionalityDefining interfaces in a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment Communication of status, issues, and results with program management and customers.Work in close collaboration with Government R&D organizations such as DARPA, AFRL, ONR, and Army labs to develop advanced navigation and timing technologies.Work with a team of navigation and timing experts in a team-based collaborative environment dedicated to advancing the state of the artWork with leading-edge Software Defined Radio (SDR) systems for GPS, GNSS, and other cooperative signals along with advanced signal processing techniques to define new product linesWork with leading-edge navigation warfare (NavWar) systems, techniques, algorithms, and software to enhance mission success in contested environments.This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
This requisition may be filled at either the Engineer Level OR Principal Level Level.
Basic Qualifications for the Engineer Level:
Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline AND 2 years of related professional/military experience in MBSE or Systems Engineering OR a Master's degree in MBSE or Systems Engineering.Experience in Cameo, Rhapsody, Simulink, SCADE, or other MBSE Modeling applications.US CitizenshipAbility to obtain a DoD Secret clearance or higher clearance.Ability to work on site a minimum of 4 days a week.Basic Qualifications for the Principal Engineer Level:
Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in MBSE or Systems Engineering OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related professional/military experience in MBSE or Systems Engineering OR a Ph.D with related professional/military/academic experience in MBSE or Systems Engineering.Experience in Cameo, Rhapsody, Simulink, SCADE, or other MBSE Modeling applications.US CitizenshipAbility to obtain a DoD Secret clearance or higher clearance.Ability to work on site a minimum of 4 days a week.
Preferred Qualifications:
This position is contingent upon program award and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Salary Range: $87,200.00 - $130,800.00Salary Range 2: $107,300.00 - $160,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
