Major & Complex Loss Operational Director – Midlands

Is your passion in leadership and managing a successful team of loss adjusters? Do you relish being trusted to handle the most interesting, technically challenging, highest value property claims in the UK? If so, this role could be for you.  

The continued success of the commercial property offering at Sedgwick has led to the opportunity for a Major & Complex Loss Operational Director in the Midlands area.  The region comprises of 30 major and complex loss colleagues, a mixture of adjusters and support from a national total of around 150.

As Major & Complex Loss Operational Director, you will lead a team of highly regarded adjusters and technician support colleagues in your region, interact with clients at a senior level, manage operational and financial performance to budget whilst maintaining and enhancing the team’s renowned reputation for quality of service and technical knowledge.  A significant emphasis is also placed on colleague career development as we seek to develop the loss adjusters of tomorrow.   

Responsibilities:

Overall management of the major and complex loss team in the regionLead and assist on major and complex loss claims Deliver a strong financial performance aligned with the agreed budgetWork closely with other Major & Complex Loss Operational Directors to maximise flexibility in the resource model brought about by fluctuations in claim volumes, whilst maintaining our ability to respond quickly as events unfoldDefine clear systems and structures to ensure each member of the team is appropriately employed and is aware of their role, responsibilities and value to SedgwickDrive a culture of continuous improvement that strives for market leading excellence in every aspect of client and customer serviceMaintain the highest standards of performance by inspiring, training and motivating colleaguesA clear focus and strategy for career development of colleagues within the region

You will have/will be:

FCILA/ACILA qualifiedHighly organised with a flexible, pro-active approach and the ability to report to others in a clear and concise mannerExcellent oral and written communication skillsFirst class interpersonal and presentation skillsAble to demonstrate the ability to prioritise work states during busier periodsExcellent knowledge of commercial property claims productsCommercial awareness and an in-depth knowledge of client requirements and strategiesPrevious experience in the development of high performing teams is not required but will be an advantageProven track record in delivering a strong financial performance for your team is also an advantageAbility to identify and propose innovative ideas as part of a continuous improvement culture
