MCTP-SCA Computer Operator V

 

POSITION SUMMARY Mission Command Training Program (MCTP – formerly the Battle Command Training Program), based at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, is the U.S. Army's only worldwide deployable Combat Training Center.

MCTP provides full spectrum operations training support for senior commanders and their staffs so they can be successful in any mission in any operational environment. Its Senior Mentors counsel and offer their experience to Army senior commanders, subordinate commanders and staff.Additionally, MCTP's professional observer-trainers assist units with objective feedback and suggestions for improvement. MCTP remains a premier Combat Training Center to train brigades, divisions, corps, and Army Service Component Command (ASCC) level headquarters on their mission essential tasks needed to support Unified Land Operations and train joint functions within select headquarters to support their role as a joint task force.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

This serves as the generic description for the current PTOC staff for the following 6 types of roles currently needed for the MCTP program:

Exercise Analyst

Collects and manages data pertaining to military warfighting function (WfF) (movement and maneuver, intelligence, fires, sustainment, mission command, and protection) procedures, decisions, and orders during computer assisted military training exercises for Army Brigades, Divisions, and Corps.  Works closely with military WfF Chief, Observer Controller/Trainers and other exercise analysts; collects computer generated data, as well as Observer Controller/ Trainer observations, analyzes data and prepares visual products for After Action Reviews in coordination with military WfF counterparts. Develops and produces graphic products for exercise unit After Action Reviews. Gains and maintains awareness and understanding of the NGTS Archiving and Enhanced Retrieval System (ARCHER); which includes the ARROW reports organizer, Ballista, a unit database management tool for the Crosshair Viewer and Crosshair, a unit database, map, graphics and reports plotting tool. Gains and maintains proficiency in Joint Warfighting Function courses for WfF position occupied. Gains and maintains awareness and understanding of current and emerging Joint doctrine for ASCC, JTF and JFLCC organizations.Basic Qualifications: Minimum; Former Field Grade officer. Must have, or be able to obtain, a DoD SECRET Clearance. Familiar with current Army/Joint doctrine. Highly proficient with MS Office suite of software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).Preferred Qualifications: Intermediate Level Education (MEL4) graduate. Battalion/Brigade or higher staff officer experience. Previous experience in computer assisted simulation training. Prior experience as an Observer Coach/Trainer. Army training exercise design experience.

Exercise Support Staff – OPFOR Analyst

Collects and manages data pertaining to Opposing Force (OPFOR) military Warfighting function (WfF) (movement and maneuver, intelligence, fires, sustainment, mission command, and protection) procedures, decisions, and orders during computer assisted military training exercises for Army brigades, divisions, and corps. Works closely with WCOPFOR Commanders: collects computer generated data, analyzes data and prepares visual products for After Action Reviews in coordination with military WfF counterparts. Develops and produces graphic products for exercise unit After Action Reviews. Maintains proficiency in the various simulations and models and AAR systems supporting Army training exercises. Responsible for using military education and experience to develop data collection plans keyed to exercise objectives; assessing WCOPFOR performance and providing recommendations for improvements. Uses knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures to analyze WCOPFOR operations within a computer simulation. Prepares analytical reports outlining such computer simulation outputs; deviations and consequences.Basic Qualifications: Minimum; Former Field Grade officer. Must have, or be able to obtain, a DoD SECRET Clearance. Familiar with current Army/Joint doctrine. Highly proficient with MS Office suite of software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

                          Preferred Qualifications: Intermediate Level Education (MEL4) graduate. Battalion/Brigade or                                  higher staff officer experience. Previous experience in computer assisted simulation training.                                  Prior experience as an Observer Coach/Trainer. Army training exercise design experience.

 

Work Station Controller

Serves as a Warfighting Function (WfF) (movement and maneuver, intelligence, fires, sustainment, mission command, and protection) subject matter expert and supporting multifunctional areas on a team of contractors supporting the Army’s Mission Command Training Program (MCTP). Trains military personnel on the Warfighter Simulation (WARSIM) and WfF specific simulation processes and procedures. Enforces realism of exercise through role playing and conflict adjudication and resolution. Supervise the work cell mission of translating training audience operations and plans in to simulation inputs/taskings and scripting requirements. Train and support work cell augmentees in reporting, role playing elements subordinate to the training audience. Ensure that the work cells WfF units/assets are simulated IAW current doctrine and unit SOP. Supports the After Action Review (AAR) process by communicating significant events using the Workstation Reporting System (WRS). When required, assists in exercise design and scenario development. Maintains awareness and understanding of current and emerging Army & Joint doctrine for Army Brigades, Divisions, and Corps.Basic Qualifications: Former field grade or senior non-commissioned officer. Must have, or be able to obtain, a DoD SECRET Clearance. Familiar with current Army/Joint doctrine. Highly proficient with MS Office suite of software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).Preferred Qualifications: Intermediate Level Education (MEL 4) or Sergeants Major Course graduate equivalent. Brigade or higher staff officer experience. Previous experience in computer assisted simulation training. Previous experience as an instructor at a military course of instruction. Prior experience as an Observer Coach/Trainer. Army training exercise design experience.

                        EXPERIENCE AND CREDENTIALS:

 Military experience and knowledge of US Army organizations, systems and operations desired.Must have excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Will be required to undergo and pass applicable background checks.  Must be a United States Citizen to support this government contract, possess and maintain a current SECRET level security clearance. Must be willing to travel in the United States and overseas to support simulation-based Army training exercises. Telecommuting Not Allowed
