We are seeking a dedicated a Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room Team!
As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will provide professional nursing care to patients, incorporating the nursing process, utilizing technical equipment, and collaborating with other healthcare team members.
You will care for neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Shift: Weekend Package Full Time
Essential Job Functions:
Utilize the nursing process, including patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, care planning, interventions, and evaluation of patient status.
Manage personalized care by promoting and restoring health, collaborating with providers and the multidisciplinary team, and offering physical and psychological support to patients and their families.
Execute care plans as prescribed by providers, adhering to nursing practice guidelines and ensuring age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care.
Educate patients on medication, procedures, and their care plans during hospitalization and post-discharge.
Maintain patient confidentiality and provide care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner, respecting patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.
Perform and/or supervise activities requiring registered nurse expertise, seeking assistance when necessary.
Provide leadership and direction in supervising others in delivering nursing care.
Maintain current competencies by attending educational workshops and participating in departmental projects for process improvement.
Adhere to the highest safety standards in all tasks.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Licensure:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State of Iowa.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of the nursing process and its application.
Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
Skilled in post-operative care for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Ongoing continuing education in nursing, appropriate to clinical assignments.
BCLS certification at the healthcare provider level required.
ACLS and PALS certifications recommended.
