MDS Multi Site Controller
**Job Description Summary** **Job Description** M3-11952 This highly visible, Multi Site Controller will provide Financial/Accounting support for the BD MDS business, specifically two MDS Manufacturing Plants in San Louis Potosi, MEX as well as Cuautitlan, MEX. This includes providing financial support and leadership to Finance and Operations leaders, playing a key role in establishing and achieving financial objectives and formulating and executing operations strategies. The Controller will be responsible for maintaining accounting and reporting procedures resulting in accurate product costs, providing operations performance reporting, ensuring product inventories and manufacturing assets are adequately safeguarded, and financial reporting for the two high volume, high impact plants! You will occasionally interact with Global Supply Chain, Global Procurement, Research and Development, BD Excellence, Network Strategy, and other General & Administrative functions. Drives change, as needed, to ensure compliance to GAAP/SOX, reviewing and delivering recommendations for continuous improvement, and clearly communicating relevant fiscal information to executive management. Position will require occasional travel, maintaining an in-person leadership presence at both sites. The Controller will be responsible for all financial activities associated with the SLP and Cuautitlan Manufacturing Plants and report to the Associate Director, Operations Finance - MDVC with a dotted line to both the SLP and Cuautitlan MDS plant managers. **Duties & Responsibilities** + Dotted line management of the plant finance team currently supported by Global Business Services. + Direct management of plant finance team currently supported locally. + Oversees all planning, reporting, and analysis of Standard Product Costing, Manufacturing Variances, Inventory and its component parts. Including: + Leads the annual budget and forecast processes, including development of standard costs + Maintains fixed assets + Ensures reserves are calculated appropriately + Ensures manufacturing performance is accurately reported + Partners with the Manufacturing Directors and Plant Leadership to optimize finance related operational decisions, ensure appropriate financial/accounting rigor, introduce process discipline as needed, and safeguard company assets. + Drives continuous financial improvement through preparation/review of business cases, inventory analysis, new product and discontinuance analysis, and spending analysis. + Ensures that financial reports and records are prepared in compliance with US GAAP and BD financial policies. + Ensures that financial controls are maintained and that the requirements of the Sarbanes/Oxley Act are met. + Assists both internal and external auditors with their periodic review of financial records. Is further responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings. + Performs other related duties and assignments as required **Qualifications** **Education & Experience** + Requires 5+ years of relevant progressive accounting / finance experience in a manufacturing environment. Manufacturing operations, product costing, manufacturing variances and inventory control, financial analysis, and budgeting & forecasting experience required. + Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. A CPA, MBA, or CMA is preferred. + Proven ability to lead and serve as an effective team member in a large organization including planning, developing, organizing, directing, managing, and evaluating personnel **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities** + Possess a track record demonstrating the management of increasing levels of responsibility, successful business partnering at a senior level, and leading cross-functional teams. + Demonstrated ability to improve controls and influence decisions through accounting knowledge and data driven financial analysis. + Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUPS, etc.) + ERP experience is necessary; specifically, SAP experience is preferred. + Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well with management of all levels and disciplines. + Knowledge of corporate accounting policies and procedures. + Self-driven, proactive and seeks continuous improvement. + Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, matrixed, challenging environment with strong attention to detail. + Should be well organized and possess good analytical and interpersonal skills + Ability to lead projects + Audit experience preferred, and knowledge of SOX controls. + Candidate must be able to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish Relocation Assistance: May Be Available For This Position Subject To Company Policy.
