About the Role:

Reporting to the Supervisor, this Measurement, Automation, Communication (MAC) Technologist, (Fully Qualified) role involves comprehensive responsibilities for the installation, operation, and maintenance of our natural gas systems, facilities, and equipment. You'll contribute to projects by leveraging your expertise to enhance system performance and reliability. This position offers the opportunity to mentor entry level technologist, oversee contractor activities, and participate in the development and implementation of complex projects.

What You’ll Do

Lead and execute installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various electronic/pneumatic automation, gas analysis, and measurement systems, mentoring other technologists.  Plan and oversee Capital and Operations and Maintenance projects, enhancing system functionality and compliance with company standards.  Develop solutions and procedures for equipment installation and maintenance, ensuring adherence to external codes and company policies. Conduct worksite Hazard Assessments and Quality Assurance inspections, maintaining stringent compliance with safety standards.  Direct contractor activities, ensuring they meet ATCO's operational standards and safety protocols.  Manage and perform quality control inspections, and recommend improvements based on findings.  Maintain and manage specialized instruments and equipment, ensuring optimal functionality at all job sites.  Stay updated with technological advancements to continuously improve skills and work methods

Additional Requirements:

Valid Alberta Class ‘’5’’ Driver’s license  Home based: Required to travel throughout the service area territory in ATCO provided vehicle to perform assigned duties.  Required to go on standby rotation for afterhours callouts May be called out to assist in emergencies outside of regular working hours.

What You’ll Bring:

Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics or Telecommunications from a recognized technical institute.  Currently or eligible to be recognized by A.S.E.T. as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET). Demonstrated competencies and experience as a Measurement, Automation and Communications Technologist. Must have familiarity and working knowledge of applicable Company and regulatory body standards, codes, policies, and procedures. Understanding and experience with microprocessors and mechanical based measurement and control equipment. Proficient with Personal Computers and Microsoft Suite: Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Word, and Excel
