Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world.
Wood is recruiting for a Measurement Technician to join its Asset Management and Operational Services (AMOS) group within our Renewables division based in Glasgow.
The role will be based at the Glasgow office with on-site working across the UK and internationally as required.
The Role
The Measurement Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of Wind measurement equipment that is placed at the top of MET Towers that can be up to 100ft tall.
A significant part of the role will be out in the field and involve climbing the towers to deliver the required service. However, the technician will also be required to spend some time in the workshop to repair equipment that has been taken in and to prepare for upcoming project requirements. They will also be responsible for providing reports on the data acquired from the equipment.
The technician will often work independently or as part of a small team to ensure delivery of Wind Measurement projects across a portfolio of clients in the UK and internationally.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a hands-on electro mechanical technician role, with a great aptitude for solving mechanical and electrical technical problems. As a key part of this role will involve climbing towers at a significant height, the successful candidate must be able to work at heights and be physically fit. .
