Measurement Technician - Natural Gas

Summary:

This position maintains gas meters, regulators and relief valves, RTU & SCADA equipment and related communication equipment, valves and valve operators, gas filters, and auxiliary equipment such as electrical generators in a manner to meet operational needs in compliance with partnership and regulatory requirement

Essential duties and responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:

Maintain and operate facilities in compliance with applicable specifications, codes, safety standards and operating procedures. Perform periodic accuracy tests including the calibration, inspection and maintenance of all equipment related to quality and quantity determination Install instrumentation and equipment in new and renovated measurement and/or regulation facilities. Inspect and maintain all pressure and volumetric control equipment. Collect gas samples in compliance with partnership safety and industry guidelines. Participate in partnership safety program and initiatives. 

Required Education:

High school diploma or GED.

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

Level C requires a minimum of 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience. Level B requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience. Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience.

Required Qualifications:

Detailed knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT, RRC, OSHA, NEC, AGA, API and GPA requirements and procedures. Work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent communication skills to interface with customer base. Preferred Qualifications: PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel. Some college or technical trade school is preferred.

Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally. Driving, walking, standing frequently. Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting
Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
