Purpose of the Position:

The Measurement and Control Leader will oversee the measurement, testing, and control processes used in technical manufacturing.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the measurement and control team responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining measurement systems and control strategies used in manufacturing processes. Design and implement measurement systems, instrumentation, and sensors for monitoring and controlling critical process parameters, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and repeatability. Develop and validate measurement techniques, test methods, and inspection procedures for quality assurance and process optimization, working closely with engineering and quality teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify measurement and control requirements, define specifications, and select appropriate equipment and technology solutions. Establish and maintain calibration standards, procedures, and documentation for measurement equipment and instruments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Conduct root cause analyses, troubleshooting, and corrective actions for measurement and control issues, implementing solutions to improve process stability and performance. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance measurement systems, control algorithms, and data analysis techniques, driving operational efficiency and productivity gains. Develop and maintain data acquisition systems, databases, and software tools for collecting, analyzing, and visualizing process data, facilitating real-time monitoring and decision-making. Provide technical leadership and training to measurement and control technicians, engineers, and operators, ensuring competency in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment. Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in measurement and control, participating in professional development activities and knowledge-sharing sessions. Work Hours Standard Hours (Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm) Managing a 24/7 plant structure, so occasional support when needed.  

 

Required Education, Experience and Skills: 

Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering field 7-10 minimum years of experience working in engineering or manufacturing Strong technical expertise in instrumentation, metrology, process control systems, and data acquisition techniques. Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and regulatory requirements applicable to measurement and control processes. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders. Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

 

Desired Skills:

Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) and data analysis tools for processing and analyzing measurement data. Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, HMI interfaces, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC) is desirable. Able to communicate well with all levels IE.  engineers, production associates, and managers. Self-motivated, good presentation skills , able to handle multiple priorities.

The range for this position is  $131,667.00   -  $181,043.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
