This Opportunity:

Palladium’s Contingency Operations portfolio supports the United States Department of Defense, Department of State, and various branches of the US military in undertaking projects in the areas of Base Operations Support, Life Support Area maintenance, and other areas of contingency logistics to enhance our clients’ efforts towards humanitarian assistance, disaster response, and logistics excellence.

In anticipation of future award, Palladium is seeking expressions of interest from qualified candidates in the areas of Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS) and integrated logistics support including inventory management and control, serialization, storage, tactical vehicle maintenance, marking and labeling, and distribution.

The Mechanic, Material Handling Equipment performs field and sustainment level service, repairs, and overhauls of KALMAR/RTCH and other variants of material handling equipment (MHE). They troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems, conduct preventative maintenance checks, and ensure compliance with technical manuals and safety regulations. Additionally, they handle diagnostic equipment, retain service records, and perform other assigned duties.

Location and Compensation:

The position will operate for a period of approximately 4 months in Luzon, Philippines, and will be under the direction of Palladium’s Washington D.C. office.

Please be advised that a final pay offer will be based on various factors, including but not limited to your qualifications, education, experience, skills, seniority, performance, and Palladium’s business or organizational needs.

Overtime will be paid after 48 hours worked in a week (Monday-Sunday). Overtime will be paid at 150% agreed hourly rate. Holiday pay will be paid in accordance with US Federal holidays. Holiday pay will be paid at 200% agreed hourly rate.

Reporting and Supervision:

This role will report to the Maintenance Supervisor

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

Perform the full scope of field and sustainment level service, repairs and overhaul of the KALMAR/RTCH and all variants of material handling equipment (MHE); and other Special Purpose Equipment.
Perform the full range of field and sustainment levels of maintenance to include but not limited to overhaul, repair and services.
Check and troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems; remote control systems; and variable frequency drive of crane equipment.
Ensure work is complete and conforms to standards and requirements IAW technical manuals, commercial-off the-shelf (COTS) manuals and local SOP/IOPs.
Utilize equipment and supplies properly.
Test and inspect engine to determine malfunction.
Locate missing and broken parts and verify repairs using diagnostic equipment.
Perform calibrations with various types of Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) and precision devices.
Conduct preventative maintenance checks and services (PMCS), administrative services and unscheduled maintenance activities.
Work in accordance with instructions contained equipment manuals and workshop time schedules; retain service records.
Ensure safekeeping of workshop tools & equipment and comply with occupational health and safety regulations.
Conduct Environmental Protection/Control duties.
Under direction of the Operations Manager, be prepared to assist in download/upload of vehicles and equipment on and off vessels as required.
Be prepared to help all other Team Members as directed, including non-Palladium staff, Local National workers and prime contractor staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Criteria:

One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
High School graduate or equivalent.
Documented maintenance training on RTCH.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Host Nations Heavy Duty Driver’s License.
Fluency in written and spoken English

Desirable Criteria:

Three (3) years of experience in RTCH maintenance.
Possesses in-depth knowledge of The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS).
Collaborative work style fostering cooperation and teamwork.
Must be knowledgeable of and possess the ability to identify the military rank structure.
Highly proficient in English, both verbally and written.
Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
High-level organization and planning skills so workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports, wiring diagrams, schematics, technical manuals and documents.
Must be proficient performing in performing troubleshooting and automotive systems.
Possesses good customer service, interpersonal and leadership skills.
Must be able to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
