Basic Job Functions:

To inspect, trouble shoot, and make necessary mechanical repairs to all types of cranes and lifting devices throughout the mill.

Analyzes repair or work required, obtains materials and equipment necessary to perform job, and completes job, making sure area is clean and safe before leaving area.

Performs all inspections, repairs, burning, welding, pipefitting, lubrication as required by job.

Fills out appropriate inspection forms for OSHA records.

Performs non-destructive testing as required by job. 

Be able to troubleshoot and repair any crane problem.  Be physically able to perform requirements of job.

Be safety oriented and know proper crane boarding and lockout procedures.

Forklift and mobile crane certified.  Must have structural welding certification acceptable to CSI standards.

Have a through understanding of blueprint reading.  Be able to do any layout work required of job.

Be able to align couplings using dial indicator or laser alignment equipment.

Be able to read micrometers and calipers.  Be able to inspect and repair a subassembly.
