Mechanic

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manages Mechanic Assistant (if applicable) Corrects vehicle issues as reported by drivers and directed by management Examines vehicles and discusses the nature and extent of damage or malfunction with management Develops vehicle repair plan and reports to management as required Raises vehicle safely with a hydraulic jack or hoist and locks lift or places vehicles on jackstands when gaining accesses to underside of vehicle Performs on time preventive maintenance as required by TPS PM schedule May be responsible for repairing, but not limited to, the following subsystems: A/C and heating systems Alternators Starters Water pumps Power steering pump/hydro booster Ignition system Lighting Instrument panel Shift tube assembly Brakes Shock absorbers In vehicle video recording system Obtains estimates and oversees outsourcing of major body damage to approved vendors Coordinates with OEM dealers on warranty work and vehicle recalls Responsible to maintain a clean and safe workspace Organizes and/or cleans both the shop area and office on a daily basis, prior to shift end Other duties as assigned.

Self-motivated and able to work without constant direct supervision Strong interpersonal skills required Math skills required to review invoices Computer data entry to record vehicle repairs and maintenance Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions/procedure manuals Must be able to operate basic power and manual tools Must be able to operate a shuttle bus Must not have more than 3 moving violations in the last three years

Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred At least 1-2 years mechanic experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience A minimum of 4 current and valid ASE certifications required

Working Conditions:

Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts Frequently exposure to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration Noise level is usually loud
