Job Title: Mechanic

Job Description

Ensures the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines. Follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications while troubleshooting malfunctions. Dismantles, moves, assembles, installs, welds, performs torch work, and repairs industrial machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions.

ResponsibilitiesDismantle equipment and machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.Assemble and install equipment such as conveyors using hand and power tools.Construct foundations and align machines.Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance.Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.Control downtime through the use of effective routine preventive maintenance techniques.Set up and operate machine tools and fabrication machinery to rework or make new parts.Travel to other locations may be required.Perform other work as assigned at Management’s direction.Essential SkillsTroubleshootingMechanical maintenanceMechanical troubleshootingUnderstanding of blueprints/schematicsMachine operating or fabricatingDiesel engine repairElectrical repairHydraulicsPneumaticsPreventive maintenanceBlueprint readingSchematic readingHand tool usageWelding3-phase motorsWiringMechanical assemblyElectrical assemblyAdditional Skills & QualificationsProficiency with hand and power toolsStrong mechanical aptitudeExperience in mechanical/electrical assemblyWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment involves heavy manufacturing. You will work with various technologies and equipment, including machine tools and fabrication machinery. The position may require travel to other locations. Safety and adherence to proper protocols are essential in this role.

This is a Contract position based out of NA, Kentucky.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00
