Ventia is currently seeking a qualified Mechanic to join our team on a part-time basis (four days per week). This position is based in the Mornington Peninsula as part of the MPS contract and offers a competitive hourly rate of $39.80.

 

Key Accountabilities

Carry out the maintenance and repair of plant and equipment as required.   The procurement of workshop supplies and parts, including stock control.   Provide technical support to the team in the areas of maintenance, service, repair, recovery and replacement of plant and equipment.   Assist with preventive maintenance programs for plant and equipment and review items of plant to be replaced.   Create and maintain maintenance work orders for plant and equipment.   Operate in a variety of systems including Purchasing, Maintenance Recording, and Supplier purchasing portals. Oversight and direction of works being performed by others.

 

Education and Qualifications

Trade Qualification (minimum Certificate III in Motor Mechanics).   Victorian Vehicle License – preference for a Heavy Vehicles Driver’s license  - minimum of a full Car license with a but willingness to undertake training for a higher category (Heavy Vehicle) license.  Forklift License.

 

Skills and Experience

Minimum of 5 years of related experience in both Diesel and Petrol engines preferred.   Aptitude to obtain skills in workshop administration, including scheduling of works, service logs, time management, plant history, statutory maintenance, parts acquisition, etc. Previous experience with EPV’s woodchippers, diesel trucks, trailers, commercial vehicles and minor plant and equipment will be considered favorably.   Experience in, or aptitude towards, hydraulics, auto electrical, welding, minor fabrication, panel repair and the maintenance and servicing of minor plant and equipment.
