**Amentum** is currently seeking a **Mechanic Helper** to support our contract in **Springfield, VA** .  Must be a US citizen, must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. **Primary duties** : Include perform area safety checks, audit GSA billing statements and EZ Pass account; this person must ensure that all monthly deliverables and other required documentation is complete. Assist the Fleet Manager in monitoring local road/traffic conditions making route changes as needed to maximize efficiency. Assist in enforcing all facility safety and site security regulations. Coordinate the proper maintenance and repair of leased vehicles, GSA vehicles and other Fleet related equipment. Coordinate and perform, as required preventative maintenance and operational safety inspections on vehicles. Additional duties include providing daily operational guidance to the Shuttle Bus Lead and Drivers. Verifies operational safety of equipment and devices such as brakes, clutch, lights, mirrors, glass, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, highway warning kits, horn, warning lights and buzzers, emergency exits, wipers, signs, tires, etc. Additional duties also include being the designated back up to the Taxi Driver (Executive Driver). Will drive assigned vehicle safely and efficiently transport executives, dignitaries and others to and from government facilities, meetings and special events while performing the following essential duties. Responsibilities + Drives service vehicle for parts pickup and roadside service as required. + Responsible for key storage for primary and spare keys. + Daily inspection of fleet, ensure proper preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on vehicles are being performed and maintain registration records. Minimum Knowledge + Possess a valid Commercial Drivers Licenses with Class “C” endorsement. + Possess a valid Commercial Drivers Licenses with Class “P” endorsement. + Must have and retain a valid State Driver’s License with no recent traffic. + Must pass driving record (MVR) check.
