Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for all phases of industrial maintenance duties. The Maintenance Mechanic II will oversee the performance and maintenance of large production machinery. Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines. Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary. Oils and lubricate moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance. Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts. Other expectations include the ability to perform all the other duties and tasks of the other employees within the department when required or needed.  The Maintenance Mechanic II must also be knowledgeable and capable of following and enforcing all department and plant rules, policies, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

Capable of troubleshooting and repairing equipment failures or breakdowns on all equipment.

Capable of re-knifing all types of plant product cutting cylinders.

Completion of certificate course for general welding.

Ability to provide quality instructions or cross-training on plant equipment for department employees.

The ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics, and service manuals for troubleshooting purposes.

Assist production on startups and shutdowns of production equipment.

Work safely and efficiently while being careful to follow all safety requirements as determined by management.

Ability to install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot industrial machinery mechanical equipment in manufacturing. 

Work independently, analyze and recommend repair procedures for equipment failures, and demonstrate mechanical insight in recommending options.

Assist and troubleshoot equipment failures or breakdowns on all equipment.

Work towards learning how to start up and shut down production equipment.

Identify equipment parts as needed.

Become efficient in re-knifing all types of plant product cutting cylinders.

Complete work orders as assigned by the Supervisor.

Recommend corrective action to solve mechanical issues on the production lines.

Always maintains an orderly, clean, and safe working area.

Capable of requisitioning machine parts pulled from the maintenance storerooms.

Perform other tasks as assigned.

Under This Roof, We Require:

High school education or equivalent experience

2 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience

Associate's degree, trade school education, or industrial certifications are preferred

Physical Requirements

Must be able to climb a ladder and/or stairs.

Frequent sitting, walking, standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing.

Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enables the use of office machinery.

Oral and auditory capacity enables interpersonal communication and communication through automated devices such as the telephone.

Occasionally operate business machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

Ability to read and concentrate via computer data entry typing and proofreading.

Hourly Rate: 39.23
