1st shift 6:30am - 2:30pm
The Mechanic must diagnose, examine and repair plant equipment that malfunctions. Will repair by dismantling machines mainly by the use of hand tools. Will replace, fit or repair broken, worn or defective parts with correct items obtained from stock or order replacement parts as necessary. Will re-assemble machines, making all necessary adjustments for proper operation. Will utilize approved methods and procedures in both dismantling and re-assembly processes. Will be required to install new machinery or heavy equipment as plant layouts are changed. The Mechanic works under the direction of the Head Mechanic and the Supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Examine machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble.
Dismantle or partially dismantle machine and perform repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in fitting, replacing, or repairing broken, worn, or defective parts.
Replace needed parts with items obtained from stock, or order replacement parts from parts manuals, blue prints, and maintenance catalogs.
Re-assemble machines. Making all necessary adjustments for proper operation.
Installs new machines and heavy equipment using approved methods and procedures.
Dismantles and installs machines or heavy equipment when changes in the plant layout are required.
