Responsibilities Maintenance Mechanic/Set Up Technician Are you currently a mechanically inclined set up technician with 2-5 years hands on maintenance manufacturing environment experience? Come and join our Team! Location: 70 West Drive, Brampton Hourly Rate Range $25-$35/hour Training on Dayshift then move to either Afternoon or Night Shift whichever is needed at the time. We supply organic and conventional peanut butter, tree nut butter and other nut butters to leading grocery retailers, top food service distributors and industrial bakeries across North America. Position Summary: Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Setup and Operations Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth production processes, maintaining equipment, and upholding health and safety standards. They collaborate closely with Production & QA Supervisors, and operators, and contribute to overall productivity. Duties And Responsibilities: Equipment Changeovers: Able to follow, understand SOP’s, Perform equipment changeovers within specified time limit during product transitions, ensuring efficient setup and minimal downtime. Work in compliance with Safety and Environmental standards. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Attend equipment’s repair and problems promptly. Perform routine inspections to identify any malfunctions and replacement. Throughout shift responsible for reviewing and analyze productivity reports in Redzone, to pinpoint downtime equipment issue and react with urgency. Troubleshoot and repair low voltage (up to 120V) electrical machine issues– using multimeter to check/replace fuses/sensors Cleaning, Inspection and Lubrication: Regularly Inspect, clean, and lubricate production equipment to maintain optimal performance. Perform daily preventative maintenance on plant equipment and building equipment as required. C M (Condition Monitoring): Monitor production operation to identify dangerous and hazards conditions, monitor equipment for damage, or abnormalities, reporting any findings to the Maintenance Manager / Maintenance Coordinator on regular basis. Maintain and complete documentation of production, maintenance PM and emergency work orders in our CMMS. Participate in Continuous improvements and War on Waste projects. Safety Compliance: Prioritize safety protocols, adhere to safety guidelines, and promptly address safety concerns immediately. Collaboration: Work closely with production supervisors, production and quality team members to coordinate activities and ensure seamless operations. Repair mechanical issues of facility machinery as requested by the maintenance manager/supervisor on a daily basis. Improve the functioning of the machinery by making mechanical adjustments as required Perform basic building maintenance and repairs including but not limited to drywall repairs, painting, and any other such type of activities that may arise from time to time. Clean and maintain work area after mechanical work has been performed on a daily basis. Use Redzone to respond to issues and action requirements with a sense of urgency Ensures that maintenance shop is cleaned and tidied daily including work areas after mechanical work has been performed. Perform work as required following appropriate safety procedures (ie LOTO). All positions within Golden Boy Foods Ltd are mandated to adhere to Good Manufacturing (GMP) and uphold food safety standards. Complete other duties, as assigned. Some travel may be required Education And Experience Required: Minimum of two (2) years of technical/mechanical experience in Food Production manufacturing environment Manual dexterity required for operating machinery, pneumatic tools and power tools. High school diploma or equivalent education Millwright/Electrical ticket is an asset Understands effective use of basic hand tools, wrenches, and safe use of power maintenance tools. Understand use of tap, drills, threads, plumbing, welding, rigging and fabrication Familiarity with various disciplines (electrical, electronic, mechanical, chemical). Ability to perform unit and process changes effectively. Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Strong judgment and decision-making during equipment malfunctions Understanding of use and danger of compressed air, basic Hydraulics, and pneumatics principles Communication skills for collaboration with team members and management Able to work as part of a diverse team or independently to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks Positive, proactive and self-motivated and collaborative qualities Pr Preferred Education, Experience, And Skills: Familiarity with Food Manufacturing Environment Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic systems and Control System knowledge an asset. Experience with High-Speed Packaging Machinery and industrial electrical PLC an asset. Forklift, High Reach certificate an asset. An organized problem solver, able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm.
