About this RoleNorthStar Energy Solutions is looking for a Mechanic Shop Foreman to oversee a team of approximately eight mechanics and be responsible for coordinating daily operations within the shop. This position requires a strong leader who is highly organized and can manage workflows, allocate tasks, and maintain high standards for service quality.
What You'll Do Ensure all safety practices are in place and followed by all staff working in shop. Manage safe work environment including and not limited to housekeeping after every repair.Evaluate shop tooling and equipment for needed repairsMonitor all personal tools used by mechanics to ensure safety devices are in place and used according to the manufacturer recommendation.Supervise the day-to-day repair and maintenance of all units coming in the shop.Assist in the selection of outsource unitsIdentify abuse or mistreatment of equipment and report to equipment superintendent as needed. Help to develop plan to eliminate any future occurrence.Supervision of the parts ordering process and assist in any instance that there is an issue.Will assist as needed to diagnose and guide repairs on all units that’s requiredBe the POC for all shop staff to provide guidance and training.Will review and verify all paperwork that technicians are required to turn in dailyPlay an active role in the interview and hiring process for all shop mechanics.Play active role in technician evaluation for annual reviews with equipment superintendent.Ensure every unit is inspected while in shop to check for repairs needed that were not reported (pre-post mechanic inspection).Manage all work orders for DOT repairs and sign off on DVIR repairs when made.
