Job DescriptionOceanaGold are seeking a suitably qualified and reliable Mechanic (Surface Equipment) to perform all aspects of maintenance, repair, testing and monitoring of site mobile equipment, light, heavy and auxiliary equipment to ensure its availability, reliability, and safety in a quality, efficient, safe and environment friendly manner. The role will report to the Supervisor (Surface Equipment).
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Performs preventive, breakdown maintenance and troubleshooting tasks on all surface equipment.Perform routine basic Electrical and Electronic systems.Conducts equipment repairs and refurbishmentDiagnose and service hydraulic, hydrostatic, and pneumatic systems of equipment.Diagnose and repair of drive train, steering, suspension, and brake systems.Document equipment maintenance thru work orders and PRONTORelays to supervisor immediate equipment repair requirements and communicate safety and job specific needsSuggests ways to prevent future equipment malfunction or improve equipment performance or safetyPerforms tool keeping and housekeeping duties, and takes accountability on issued and toolroom tools and equipment to ensure they are kept tidy, safe to use and completeMaintains good housekeeping in work areas and around workshopsQualificationsBehaviour consistent with OceanaGold Corp.
