Mechanic – Technical Support SupervisorTransdev in Fairfax County is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanic – Technical Support Supervisor to join our team. The Mechanic – Technical Support Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of our diesel technician team, ensuring the timely and efficient diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of diesel vehicles and equipment. The above represents the standard Corporate Policy.Key Responsibilities:  Supports Technicians with complex technical issuesDiagnose mechanical failures and root causeOversite and support of Preventive Maintenance ProgramsAnalyzes technical data and root causes of failuresDetermines maintenance personnel training needs and coordinates with TrainersReviews all road call repair work orders for proper root cause analysis and proper diagnosisSupports transition into ZEB’s with strong electronics and high voltage experienceProvide support to Apprenticeship programEnsure diagnostic tools and equipment are updated, calibrated, and licensedIdentifies tools and equipment needsResearches and stays abreast of new technology, serviceMakes recommendations for Service Bulletins and SOP’sDevelops reliability campaigns, oversees implementation and quality of campaignsIdentify warrantable failures and trends Other duties as requiredQualifications: High school diploma or Degree preferred.Must have a minimum of 2 years quality inspectorExperience with quality control techniques such as SixExperience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments.Basic math skills, analytic skills, documentation and reportingConsiderable knowledge of and ability to use personnel computers and related software (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).Demonstrate ability to identify and understand problems and to determine the appropriate measures it takes to solve problems.Considerable interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.Excellent communication skills both written andProven attention to detail and organization skills, understanding importance of prioritizing effectively and managing multiple tasks in an environment with ever competing demands.Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, andKnowledge of computer systems, technology, software, applications, circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles and practices, including power supplies, relays, time and frequency standards, digital logic, integrated circuits, and programmable motor/logic controllers.    Physical Requirements: Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.  About Transdev: Cities, counties, airports, companies, and universities across the U.S. contract with Transdev to operate their transportation systems, maintain their vehicle and fleets, and deliver on mobility solutions.
