Position Description
Primary Purpose:Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and operates various plant mechanical and compression equipment with minimal supervision. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair various mechanical equipment including gas compressors, generators, pumps, cooling fans, pressure control equipment, valves, motors, etc.Train others in the operations and routine maintenance of compressors, generators, and plant equipment.Maintain equipment maintenance records – routine preventative maintenance, major and minor repair work, availability of equipment, oil usage, etc.Maintain parts inventoryObserve all EH&S regulations, operating and maintenance procedures, and Company policies
** IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE LOCATED BETWEEN JUNCTION, TX & FORT STOCKTON, TX/PECOS, TX. THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE DAILY TRAVEL IN THE WEST TEXAS AREA**
Position Requirements
Minimum RequirementsEducation:High School Diploma or equivalentExperience/Specific Knowledge:5-10 years experience in the mechanical field would be consideredWorking knowledge of generator repairs, pump repairs, and electrical equipment, compressor repairs,etc.Operational knowledge of electrical meters and instruments including amp meters, voltmeters, and mechanical toolsMust respond to, and address, callouts and emergencies after regular business hours including after dark hours, holidays and weekends, which will require carrying a mobile phone.Perform plant operations duties as needed and participate in area callouts when needed, including covering operations shifts.Certifications/Licenses:Valid Driver's LicenseCompetencies/Skills/Abilities:Basic Computer SkillsAbility to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with minimum supervision.Adequate analytical and troubleshooting skillsGood verbal and written communication skillsCustomer focusAbility to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rulesPhysical Demands:Be able to lift up to 50lbs., climb ladders, work in tight spaces including kneeling, bending at the waist, etc.Working Conditions:Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditionsWear all required PPE.Primary area of responsibility would be Kinder Morgan Treating plants in West Texas from Pecos, TX. to Junction, TX.Secondary areas of responsibility could be in other areas of Treating including Texas, Southeast New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. These would be in support roles if neededThis position will require travel, including overnight stays including muiltiple nights at a time.Work schedules and duties will at times include nights, weekends, and Holidays.
