Our team of 4,000 employee-owners, equipped with innovative technology and optimized procedures, helps owners improve safety, productivity, profit margins, and cost-efficiency. **Mechanic Welder/Fabricator** **This person must be able to work in all areas of a weld/fabrication shop environment to manufacture parts and/or assemblies per customer specifications.** **Job Functions and Key Responsibilities** + Responsible for performing work in the Fabrication Shop, including fabricating parts using various techniques such as assembling, welding, drilling, grinding, bending, sawing, painting and sand blasting. + Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings to manufacture parts and equipment. + Must have experience with TIG welding, MIG welding, and stick welding. + Must be able to work in a challenging environment to meet or exceed customer expectations. + Fastens steel members to cable of hoist, using chain, cable or rope. + Guides structure being lifted into proper position and aligns rivet holes with corresponding holes. + Drives drift pins through rivet holes. + May help with lifting, positions and securing materials and work pieces during installation. + Verifies vertical and horizontal alignment using plumb bob and level. Bolts align members to keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted or welded in place. + Bolts aligned structures to keep them in position until permanently riveted, bolted or welded into place. + Uses Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Gas-Tungsten Arc, Submerged Arc or Shielded Metal Arc welding processes. + Fills holes or corrects mistakes in lead pieces and makes bulges thin and curves in metal work pieces. + Manually apply filler rod to supply weld metal. May clean or degrease weld joint or workplace, using wire brush, portable grinder, or chemical bath. + Remove excess weld, defective weld Material, slag and spatter, using carbon arc gouge, hand scrapper, grinder or power chipper. + Other duties as assigned. + Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
