Title:
Mechanical and Electrical Technical OfficerLocation – Erbil, Iraq – 12 weeks on/3 weeks off
Duration – 5 years + 2 – Facilities Management Operations (FMO)
Please note this role requires UK SC Clearance. Applicants must be eligible to obtain an SC Clearance, which requires UK Nationality and 5-year footprint in the UK.
Please note this is not a tax-free assignment and you will be subject to UK tax for the duration of the assignment.
The Role
We seek an experienced Mechanical and Electrical Technical Officer to manage risks, and ensure compliance with industry standards. This role involves overseeing projects across Ministry of Defence (MOD) sites in Iraq, Oman, UAE, and Bahrain.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage contracts, designs, and specifications
Supervise project risk management and ensure compliance with industry standards
Lead mechanical and electrical projects, ensuring HSE compliance and fulfilling CDM 2015 responsibilities
Conduct site inspections for quality, safety, and progress
Resolve technical issues and oversee repairs
Manage personnel and resources, acting as the site manager
Prepare cost estimates and conduct technical inspections
Utilise commercial software for design and planning
Create bills of quantities and design drawings
What We Need
HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering together with proven relevant experience.
Qualified to 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
Practical quantifiable experience in all aspects of Electrical installations
Experience in all aspects of construction site management
Desirable:
Hold valid DE certification of relevant discipline
Hold a valid (3-day standard) First Aid certificate
Hold an Authorised Person appointment in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline, as per JSP 375 Volume 3
