Title:
Mechanical and Electrical Technical OfficerLocation – Erbil, Iraq – 12 weeks on/3 weeks off
Duration – 5 years + 2 – Facilities Management Operations (FMO)
Please note applicants just be a UK National with a 5-year footprint in the UK in order to obtain the relevant security clearance required for this role.
Please note this is not a tax-free assignment and you will be subject to UK tax for the duration of the assignment.
The Role
We seek an experienced Mechanical and Electrical Technical Officer to manage risks, and ensure compliance with industry standards. This role involves overseeing projects across Ministry of Defence (MOD) sites in Iraq, Oman, UAE, and Bahrain.
Responsibilities
Experience in developing and managing contracts, designs, and specifications
Proficiency in creating and handling project documentation
Expertise in identifying, assessing, and managing project risks
Knowledge of industry standards and ensuring compliance
Ability to lead and manage mechanical and electrical projects
Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance
Conduct site inspections to monitor quality, safety, and ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety standards
Resolve technical issues and oversee repairs
Manage personnel and resources effectively, acting as the site manager and coordinating team activities
Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects and conducting technical inspections and evaluations
What We Need
HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering, along with demonstrable relevant experience
Candidate must have previous experience in designing electrical systems for buildings
Experience in all aspects of Electrical installations
Desirable:
Hold valid DE certification of relevant discipline
Qualified to 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
Hold a valid (3-day standard) First Aid certificate
Hold an Authorised Person appointment in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline, as per JSP 375 Volume 3
