Eaton’s IS AER ITD division is currently seeking a Mechanical Assembler II. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. **What you’ll do:** **Primary Function:** Assemble, fit, fasten, and install parts to form subassemblies. Align, fit, assemble, fasten, connect, and install system components of military mechanical/electromechanical equipment. **Essential Functions:** • Setup equipment to meet product standards for identification, contact painting, wire cutting, riveting, contact crimping and contact hooding. • Weigh, mix and identify items such as inks, paints, adhesives, molding compounds, and potting materials. • Able to interface with customers if necessary. • Perform connector assemblies. • Perform work with limited to no supervision. • Rework and/or repair assembled parts and products according to engineering specification changes. • Read and interpret blueprints, illustrations, and specifications to determine layouts, sequences of operations, and follows procedures. • Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments and following blueprint lines and index points. • Assemble and bond EMI rings to connector shell per work order instructions. • Apply identification stamping to various components and assemblies. • Paint components, as well as apply paint stripe markings to contacts. • Work in a safe manner and perform housekeeping duties to maintain safe work environment. Assure proper maintenance of a safe and clean work area. • Stage materials for shipment as required. • Prepare single and shielded wires for termination, crimp contacts to prepared wires, terminate simple cables to connectors, and load and operate heat treat and annealing ovens. • Soldering contacts and application of solvents and epoxies. **Qualifications:** **Basic Qualifications:** • 1-2 years’ experience in related mechanical manufacturing assembly operations • Ability to read, follow and understand verbal instruction, product/ process specifications, drawings, and work orders in English. • Ability to use calculators. • Ability to lift 30 lbs. and handle components and assemblies using bending, reaching, and twisting body movements; in addition to use of hand tools. • Ability to recognize and inform supervision of assembly problems and equipment breakdown. • Good manual dexterity to assemble small and intricate parts. • Soldering experience • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution. • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. • No relocation benefit is offered for this position.
