Siemens Mobility has established its first UK manufacturing facility at our Rail Industry Hub on the outskirts of Goole, in the East Riding of Yorkshire. With a contract to assemble 80 trains for the Piccadilly Line on the London Underground, our ambition is to secure additional train-building contracts—expanding this number into the hundreds. We hope that this long-term commitment to the region will drive significant growth in local employment and career opportunities.

As a Mechanical Assembly Fitter, you will work in a small team tasked with assembling our cutting-edge rolling stock products. You’ll gain hands-on experience in train manufacturing while actively contributing to improvements in safety, quality, and efficiency—helping us deliver real value to our customers.

You’ll make an impact by

Work in a safe manner, adhering to the Siemens Mobility 4 steps to zero harm prior to any task commencement.Carry out assembly tasks on mechanical parts, components, assemblies, or sub-assemblies as assigned by your supervisor or set to system. Including but not limited to: Mounting of components, minor units, or pre-assembliesAssembly of mechanical componentsPreparation work(drilling, grinding, riveting or similar)Pipe fitting BondingConduct regular sight checks, functionality or quality tests as required by production instructions.Prioritisation of quality standards in all stages of production.Support the wider assembly team activities within specialisation or in general assembly activities.

Experience of working within a Manufacturing, Maintenance or Overhaul environment in a similar roleLevel 3 Mechanical qualification / apprenticeship or an equivalent period of suitable and relevant experience.Experience of working with powered and hand tools within a mechanical environmentExperience of using Manufacturing ERP systems, such as SAP or similar
