Job Description
The person in this role will be responsible for completing the mechanical portion of large capital projects in support of the Plant Capital execution as well as overall preparation and coordination of the Engineering deliverables for the project. They will assist management with pre-studies of deployment and development projects in the Mechanical engineering field They will also execute design studies, follow procurement and fabrication of equipment, and manage the installation, commissioning, and startup of the equipment in an industrial plant environment. They will support the plant through resolution of project non-conformities and machine modification requests. They may also be involved in supporting the plant major breakdowns.
This support is needed starting immediately and currently does not have a defined end date. The position will be reassessed on a regular basis based on the investment plan and loading on the curing engineering team.
The projects assigned will primarily focus in our curing process areas in the plant, but could also contribute to projects in Prep, tire building, curing and after cure process areas.
Work Schedule:
Normal work hours 40 hrs/ week Monday Friday, however occasional shifts in schedules can be made to provide coverage for project installations and start-ups requiring weekend or holiday coverage.
Overtime work may be approved as needed but will not be typical.
Work Plant Shutdowns as needed. This work almost always falls on weekends & Holidays.
Work schedules will vary based on project need and assignment.

Skills and Requirements
Provide a fulltime resource in the engineering office to:
1. Priority 3 - Provide Mechanical Engineering design for assigned projects including solid models, mechanical detail drawings, layout drawings, component specification, and bill of materials.
3. Priority 2 - Create Budgetary Estimates and Bid Packages on assigned projects.
4. Priority 2 - Create project documentation: mechanical designs, technical offer, safety risk assessment, maintenance & operator training documents and user manuals.
5. Priority 1 Obtain quotes for Bill of Materials
6. Priority 1 Support the plant by resolving non-conformities on major project installations
7. Priority 1 - Provide Management of mechanical contractor or maintenance installation teams during equipment modifications & machine installations through Start-up and Commissioning.
8. Priority 1 - Interface with Plant production & maintenance customers, other engineers, and suppliers to complete equipment acceptance criteria.
Specific mechanical engineering skills required
1. Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering , or equivalent technical experience
2. Preferred 4-6 years of Engineering Experience
3. Experienced with mechanical design standards and able to complete mechanical systems designs using standard 3D-CAD design tools, SolidWorks preferred, AutoCAD is also a plus.
4. Lower Priority - Experience with Dossier document management systems required, Teamcenter is preferred.
5. High Priority - Managing correction of equipment non-conformities and acceptance.
6. Preferred - Robotic experience, configuration or knowledge is preferred, but not required. Specific experience with Fanuc, Yaskawa, ABB is a plus.
Project Management skills / Preferred
Overall coordination of engineering deliverables for a project from all engineering contributors on the project team, to include the following.
1. Engineering estimates including equipment, installation labor, design and startup engineering, travel, and managing project actual cost evolution.
2. Project schedule including design engineering, procurement, installation, startup, qualification.
3. Equipment procurement including specifications for RFQ process, purchase order, tracking supplier progress and managing equipment acceptance at the supplier.
4. Contributing to equipment safety & ergonomic risk assessment evaluation with the receiving plant
5. Organizing onsite equipment reception, installation, startup, ramp up including managing customer acceptance criteria with the receiving plant.
6. Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrated solid teamwork, communication, and planning skills required. Previous project management experience or team leadership experience is preferred.
7. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues. Both written and verbal communication skills are essential. null
